What is psychological therapy?

Is therapy right for you?

How therapy can help
Understand yourself in context
Explore your experiences, relationships, strengths, and challenges with someone who takes the time to listen deeply.
Develop practical strategies
Build tailored coping tools and actionable approaches that align directly with your values and daily life.
Foster self-compassion
Gain clarity on your emotional patterns, identity, and personal needs in a safe, neuroaffirming environment.
Post-diagnostic support
Helping you make sense of your or your child’s neurodivergent identity.
Understanding your neurotype
Understand more about how you view and operate within the world, your unique strengths and friction points, and begin to reframe your history and develop self-compassion.
Managing energy and preventing burnout
Learn to track what drains and recharges you, and how to proactively pace yourself in line with your neurotype.
Demystifying masking
Learn about the when and why of masking (or camouflaging), and work out if and when it may be helpful or draining.
Practical everyday strategies
Tools to manage time, organisation, and task management, and to support focus in school, work, and home life.
How sessions work

A first conversation
Mostly about getting a clear picture: what’s brought you in, what’s been happening, and what you’d like to be different. No need to have it entirely figured out beforehand.
Making sense of it together
Understanding your experiences in context, including your relationships, history, strengths, and the things that keep the pattern going.
Building the skills
Practical strategies drawn from ACT, CBT, and IPT, chosen to suit how you think and what you actually want to be doing differently.
Reviewing as you go
Checking what’s working once real life has tested it, adjusting from there, and spacing sessions out as things settle.
